2019

  • June – Hospice Proposed Payment Rates These are the proposed hospice rates for dates of service beginning October 1, 2019 for each of the CBSAs in each state. As you know, CMS is proposing to rebase, or rebalance, the payment rates across the levels of care. While continuous, inpatient respite and general inpatient are proposed to see substantial increases, those increases were “pulled” from the routine payment rates to maintain overall budget neutrality. Additionally, wage index rates can have significant swings from CBSA to CBSA. Each hospice is encouraged to use historical utilization data by level of care to see how these new rates will affect overall Medicare revenues. Feel free to reach out to Mark Sharp with BKD at msharp@bkd.com with any questions.
