What’s a perennially confusing regulatory area for hospices? Live discharges!  Who should attend:  RN, LPNs, chaplains, social workers, clinical supervisors and managers, those in hospice education, QAPI, and Compliance.

 Program Goals:

  • Identify 5 types of live discharges & understand appropriate uses of each
  • Understand and implement proper steps for each type
  • Assure compliant documentation
  • Prepare for increasing scrutiny of live discharges

Presenter:  Susan Balfour, Partner with Hospice Fundamentals. Ms. Balfour’s hospice experience spans thirty years and includes experience as executive director of a free-standing non-profit hospice agency, Director of Clinical & Regulatory Affairs for The Carolinas Center for Hospice and End of Life Care, and, since 2009, a founding partner in Hospice Fundamentals, a company specializing in regulatory and compliance monitoring, analysis and education.
