Panelists will discuss how to assess an individual's ability to make healthcare decisions.

Moderated by Pat Justice, Executive Director at the State Office of Rural Health Washington State Department of Health.

Andrea “Andi” Chatburn, DO, MA, HEC-C is a palliative care physician in Spokane for Providence St. Joseph Health and the Regional Director for Ethics for the health system’s Eastern Washington and Montana Region. Chatburn creates opportunities for healthcare professionals of every discipline to grow in their knowledge of bioethics and apply this at the bedside.

Gregg Vandkie , MD , MA is an Olympia based palliative care physician who serves as Medical Director and a Telealth Expert Panelist for the WA Rural Palliative Care Initiative. Dr. Vandekie is Associate Medical Director of the Providence Institute for Human Caring in Torrance, CA, serving WA, OR, CA, MT, AK, NM and TX. He cochairs the Providence Southwest WA Regional Clinical Ethics Committee.
