Overview: As agencies get to a year and half into PDGM it is important for them to take a deeper dive into their data to ensure they are managing to best practices under the PDGM model.  This includes increased collaboration between Clinical and Financial Management to continually measure their success.  This program is designed to provide industry benchmarks and best practices for clinical operations to ensure financial success in PDGM.  Attendees will gain a better understanding on the drivers of case weight mix, visit utilization and LUPA management all while maintaining their focus around quality care. 

Robert V. Simione CPA, DIRECTOR

Rob is a principal at Simione Healthcare Consultants, since 2021, following 11 years of progressive accomplishments and leadership in finance, operations, and data analytics at Simione to support the home health and hospice industry. A Simione team member since 2009, the Katonah, New York, resident previously served as the firm’s director of financial consulting, leading finance and operations teams and becoming a sought-after interim executive for provider organizations.  He is an experienced leader in financial and operational performance improvement, specifically in the areas of organizational assessment, budget and financial management, and data analytics.  While managing data resources to support client success at Simione, he previously led collaborative activities with a variety of information technology companies for industry benchmarking. A Certified Public Accountant in the State of New York, Simione has worked closely with a wide variety of organizations to develop financial, operational, marketing and information technology benchmarks that are critical to daily business operations and long-term financial planning. Prior to his years with Simione, he worked at Price Waterhouse Coopers, where he received the Chairman’s Award for excellence in teamwork. There, he served as a senior tax associate, gaining experience in financial accounting and reporting standards for corporate and partnership taxes, auditing, equity compensation, and tax attribute allowances. Rob is a graduate of Villanova University with a B.S. in accounting.

Laura Wilson RN, BSN, COS-C Director, Clinical Consulting

A resident of Minnesota, Laura Wilson, RN, BSN, COS-C joined the Simione team as a Senior Manager in Operations Consulting in 2018. Wilson began her career in home-based care in 1985, serving in progressively responsible clinical and regional leadership roles in the western United States, as well as Minnesota, Texas and Florida. Wilson has extensive expertise in multi-site operations, quality management, human resources, compliance and business development with a strong focus on the role of home health, hospice and palliative care to support population health in collaboration with health systems and networks. She previously worked for Kindred at Home (MN) North Memorial Health Care (MN), Intrepid USA Health Care Services (TX), Nurse On Call Home Health Care (FL), Tender Loving Care/Staff Builders (Western US), In Home Health (MN), and Health One Home Care & Hospice (now Allina – MN). She also has experience as a home health consultant and spent two years as registered nurse at St. Luke’s Hospital, Fargo, ND, after earning her BS in nursing from the University of North Dakota, Grand Forks.
