We will share strategies for implanting a multi-disciplinary case management approach and hear from a panel of clinicians sharing their current successes and struggles with case management in the current health care environment.

About the Speakers:

Ron Bettencourt, PT, COS-C 

Clinical Manager | EvergreenHealth – Home Health

Ron has worked within the health care industry as a physical therapist, manager, and clinic owner for the past 38 years – 27 years in outpatient private practice and over 11 years in home health. He is currently one of six clinical managers with Evergreen Home Care and oversees a multi-disciplinary care team.  He has a passion for learning, teaching and mentorship. Ron has been an APTA accredited clinical instructor and clinical education coordinator within the Pacific Northwest.  He enjoys being active in supporting his local community through volunteering in youth sports, participating on school district advisory boards, and advocating for healthy lifestyles.  Ron and his wife have raised 5 boys, which include a set of quadruplets and he enjoys fitness, cooking, reading, and traveling.

Serene Barrett, RN, BSN

Clinical Manager | EvergreenHealth – Home Health 

Serene started in the healthcare field 28 years ago, working as a research assistant for Medic One in Seattle. Those early years reviewing EMS reports piqued her love of medicine and led to a nursing career that has spanned many roles and environments, from Mother/Baby at Tacoma General to Code Blue Team and management at Harborview. Serene transitioned into Home Health with Evergreen Home Care Services in 2018 and now manages a multi-disciplinary team of 48 clinicians in the Greater Seattle area. She is passionate about her role as a guide and mentor and loves the work. Outside of work she enjoys exploring (eating food) all over the world with her husband and adult children, signing up for races that she rarely shows up to run, and working in her gardens.
