About our speaker:
Margaret C. Holm, JD, RN
Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission

Our guest speaker is Margaret Holm, JD, RN. She has been an RN and an attorney for over 30 years. Since June 2012, Ms. Holm has been a nursing consultant for the Washington State Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission. In this role she provides consultation and educational activities relating to various aspects of the Commission’s nursing regulations. Ms. Holm’s nursing experience includes medical/surgical, critical care, psychiatric, discharge planning and forensic nursing. After obtaining her law degree, she practiced in the fields of professional malpractice, personal injury, health care law and adoption. Prior to her joining the Nursing Commission, she served as a health law judge. Ms. Holm is a frequent speaker in state, national and international venues. She has served on numerous professional and community boards. Ms. Holm served and chaired a board for international institutional research review for 10 years. She has been a member of the American Association of Nurse Attorneys and the Washington State Bar Association.
