This webinar will focus on what the OASIS is, why it is important, and how do we facilitate a more collaborative approach to yield better outcomes and more accurate OASIS assessments. It is important to understand who CMS allows for you to collaborate with and what timeframes you have to do it.
Speaker Bio:
Kristina Wood has been with Eden Health for more than 11 years starting in the field as a RN case manager and SOC nurse for the Bellingham Home Health Agency. She has taken on many new challenges in her time with Eden by combining her love of teaching, learning, nursing, and home services. She may have started with loving Home Health but soon found she had a soft spot for Hospice as well. OASIS has a special spot in her heart as she remembers the first OASIS Certification training, she took as a QA and learned that she had been doing it all wrong. She wanted to make sure that this never happened to someone else and that Eden was really taking credit for the care that they were providing, so she began teaching OASIS trainings not just with her agency in Bellingham but soon all the Eden Agencies. As she moved into the RN clinical informaticist role, she combine her EHR trainings with OASIS and Clinical training to help improve outcomes while teaching them better utilization of the system. This passion to educate and support the company in their compliance, understanding, and processes continued as she advanced with the company and Kristina will tell you that teaching is still one of her favorite parts of her job. Hopefully you will come out of this training with a better understanding of OASIS and more ideas for team collaboration.
