October 2024 Webinar: Robust Balance Interventions in Home health
Robust Balance Interventions in Home Health
Fall prevention is an integral aspect of the role of home health clinicians.
This webinar will review the problem of fall risk in older adult populations and the complex factors that contribute to it. Exercise is known as a powerful intervention – but there are barriers that prevent its practice at home. We will review the evidence of the dosage and types of therapeutic exercise that can make a difference. The webinar will also address what is feasible in the home and ways to address common barriers home health clinicians may encounter.
1. Describe factors which contribute to fall risk in home health settings
2. Identify evidence-based multi-disciplinary interventions to mitigate fall risk
3. Identify evidence-based balance interventions which are shown to be effective and also feasible for home health
4. Describe barriers and facilitators to balance exercise interventions in the home.
