This course is designed to provide participants with skills needed to conduct telephone screenings and on-site focused physical examinations. The nurse is in a critical position to help the general population make healthy decisions about their own health status. Physical assessment is used to establish baseline information about patients to detect health problems or risk factors that may later affect the patient’s health. The nurse attending this course will refine their ability to listen to patient histories, begin critical thinking and sharpen their ability to distinguish normal from abnormal findings. This course will increase confidence in the abilities to refer patients to the appropriate care providers for evaluations and treatments.
Who Should Attend? Registered Nurses practicing in acute and primary care areas, students, and other Health Sciences Professionals wishing to acquire skills in physical assessment.
