Notes from North Sound ACH Newsletter

Nine ACHs are moving forward with selecting four or more demonstration projects for our respective regions. AND we are committed to engaging community members and consumers in that selection process. We have two critical requests:
A Program Committee has formed that will make recommendations to the Board for our core projects. This Program Committee is looking for clinicians, community leaders and people on Medicaid from any/all of our five counties to join. Some of the meetings will be in-person, but many will be by phone, teleconference, or video conference, recognizing that in-person meetings are hard at times. Please email us if you are interested, want more information, and think you have time available to join this important set of decisions.
Along that same note, we want to find consumers (people who have been or are currently on Medicaid, parents or caregivers of people on Medicaid) who want to inform the leadership and board of the North Sound ACH on a more ad-hoc basis (not joining a committee). Would you be willing to respond to periodic emailed questions, or take a survey online, helping shape the direction that the North Sound ACH should take, and how we approach engaging communities? If yes, please contact and she can get you on the list for that virtual group.

Public Comment Closes at 5pm on February 2, 2017

SIGN UP NOW! Free Training on Long Acting Reversible Contraception on March 23rd
Are you a primary care provider who would like to offer the most effective forms of contraception?
While half of all pregnancies are unintended, only a quarter (26%) of pediatricians and internal medicine physicians nationally are trained to offer Long Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC): IUDs and implants. On March 23, the North Sound ACH is offering a *free* training on LARC for health staff serving our region.  Providers may receive up to five (5)  CME hours by attending the training in Skagit County. Seats are limited so please register today using this link!

    Save the Date!
Our next Board meeting is scheduled for February 24th from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm at the North Sound BHO in Mount Vernon. The meeting will be held in the Snohomish Conference Room.  Standing room is plentiful, but limited seats are available. We no longer require RSVPs to attend the meetings, but we will have limited copies of printed materials available (trying to save a few trees:). We will post the board packet ahead of time on our website, so you can choose to either print a copy for your own use, or to bring a device to the meeting where you could follow along as the agenda progresses. Our goal each month is to make the board meetings more accessible, especially to those who come to listen, learn and share their insights
